June 27–28, 2025 marked a defining moment for Servicio Filipino Inc. as employees across departments came together for the most-awaited team-building event of the year. Set against a scenic beach backdrop, the event was more than a series of fun activities—it was a living expression of the theme “One SFI: Owning Our Future, Honoring Our Journey.”

Setting the Tone: Leadership with Heart

The event opened with a powerful message from SFI’s President and CEO, Mr. Luis “Lloyd” Alberto Anastacio, who emphasized the significance of unity, collaboration, and shared purpose in shaping the organization’s future. His speech set the emotional and inspirational tone for the entire program.

Before the games began, Senior Safety Officer Mr. Albert Alano took the floor to provide crucial safety reminders to all participants. He also conducted a brief orientation on the nearest hospital and clinic in the beach vicinity in case someone gets injured during the games, ensuring that health and safety remained a top priority throughout the event.

Team Colors, One Spirit

What followed was a high-energy cheer dance competition that showcased the creativity, coordination, and unity of the Red, Blue, and White Teams. More than just flashy moves and vibrant costumes, each team impressed by involving team heads and supervisors, showing that leadership in SFI means stepping up and stepping in.

Challenge Accepted: Teamwork in Action

The first activity was a simulated survival maze, where each team acted out a scenario of a crashed airplane. Blindfolded players were guided by their teammates through a maze filled with “hazards” such as holes, crocodiles, and snakes. In this activity, “injured” refers to players who made mistakes or were deemed to have encountered the "hazards" in the simulated survival maze. Strategy, communication, and trust were key. In the end, the Red Team emerged first (5 injured), followed by the White Team (3 injured), and the Blue Team (8 injured).

In Activity 2, teams gathered scattered materials buried in the sand—plastic bottles, foam, yardsticks, and more—to build a raft that could float and carry one member to rescue their “injured” teammates and retrieve a medical kit. All three teams successfully built functional rafts and completed the mission, showcasing ingenuity and collaboration.

Building SFI—Literally and Symbolically

The final physical challenge involved filling up symbolic team towers with sand to raise letters representing each team: S (Blue), F (Red), I (White). Only the Red Team completed their tower and chose to assist the White Team in raising theirs. However, the final push came from an exciting moment—leaders from the Red and White teams voluntarily jumped into the sea to symbolize sacrifice and unity, helping to elevate the final letter S and complete the word “SFI.” A powerful image of collective effort and shared success.
