June 27–28, 2025 marked a defining moment for Servicio Filipino Inc. as employees across departments came together for the most-awaited team-building event of the year. Set against a scenic beach backdrop, the event was more than a series of fun activities—it was a living expression of the theme “One SFI: Owning Our Future, Honoring Our Journey.”
Setting the Tone: Leadership with Heart
The event opened with a powerful message from SFI’s President and CEO, Mr. Luis “Lloyd” Alberto Anastacio, who emphasized the significance of unity, collaboration, and shared purpose in shaping the organization’s future. His speech set the emotional and inspirational tone for the entire program.

Following Mr. Anastacio was Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Carlos Candelaria, who shared an important update: the implementation of the new Salary Matrix and Adjustments, effective June 1, under Memorandum No. 13-2025—a commitment to fairness and growth within the organization.

Before the games began, Senior Safety Officer Mr. Albert Alano took the floor to provide crucial safety reminders to all participants. He also conducted a brief orientation on the nearest hospital and clinic in the beach vicinity in case someone gets injured during the games, ensuring that health and safety remained a top priority throughout the event.

Team Colors, One Spirit
What followed was a high-energy cheer dance competition that showcased the creativity, coordination, and unity of the Red, Blue, and White Teams. More than just flashy moves and vibrant costumes, each team impressed by involving team heads and supervisors, showing that leadership in SFI means stepping up and stepping in.

Challenge Accepted: Teamwork in Action
The first activity was a simulated survival maze, where each team acted out a scenario of a crashed airplane. Blindfolded players were guided by their teammates through a maze filled with “hazards” such as holes, crocodiles, and snakes. In this activity, “injured” refers to players who made mistakes or were deemed to have encountered the "hazards" in the simulated survival maze. Strategy, communication, and trust were key. In the end, the Red Team emerged first (5 injured), followed by the White Team (3 injured), and the Blue Team (8 injured).

In Activity 2, teams gathered scattered materials buried in the sand—plastic bottles, foam, yardsticks, and more—to build a raft that could float and carry one member to rescue their “injured” teammates and retrieve a medical kit. All three teams successfully built functional rafts and completed the mission, showcasing ingenuity and collaboration.

Building SFI—Literally and Symbolically
The final physical challenge involved filling up symbolic team towers with sand to raise letters representing each team: S (Blue), F (Red), I (White). Only the Red Team completed their tower and chose to assist the White Team in raising theirs. However, the final push came from an exciting moment—leaders from the Red and White teams voluntarily jumped into the sea to symbolize sacrifice and unity, helping to elevate the final letter S and complete the word “SFI.” A powerful image of collective effort and shared success.

Messages from the Heart

During the evening socials, Mr. Anastacio once again addressed the team with a heartfelt message: that true unity means rising together, despite different roles or teams. He reminded everyone that empathy and support across the organization are key to sustained success.
A deeply emotional moment followed as Exec. Asst. to the Chairman/Corp. Secretary Mrs. Angie Cruz read an open letter, thanking Mr. Lloyd for his trust.

Ms. Tess General, Supervisor of Payroll and Billing, also offered an open letter of gratitude and reflection, sharing her journey from her early days at SFI to her current role. These testimonies resonated across the team and set the stage for another meaningful activity: the exchange of personal letters among employees, written for those closest to their hearts within the organization.

Vision 2030: A Shared Commitment
To cap the first day, all employees pledged their commitment to SFI Vision 2030, affirming their role in building a stronger, future-ready organization. A group photo captured the moment, marking not just the end of Day 1 but the beginning of renewed motivation across the team.

Day 2: Signing the Vision
The next day, employees gathered once again to sign the official tarpaulin of SFI Vision 2030, a symbolic act of loyalty, unity, and shared ambition. It was a proud moment that reinforced the spirit of excellence every SFI employee aims to embody.

One SFI Moving Forward

This year’s team building was more than just an event—it was a journey through trust, courage, vulnerability, and unity. From the symbolic raising of the “SFI” towers to the quiet strength of handwritten letters, each moment reflected what it truly means to be part of One SFI.
