Servicio Filipino Strengthens Cybersecurity Awareness Through Annual Information Security Orientation

Servicio Filipino, Inc. recently conducted its Annual Information Security Training Orientation, led by Ms. Rachelle Ortiz, to remind employees of the importance of protecting company, client, and personal information.

During the session, participants learned about the CIA Triad, which stands for Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability. These three principles serve as the foundation of information security. Confidentiality means keeping sensitive information accessible only to authorized individuals. Integrity focuses on maintaining the accuracy and completeness of information, while availability ensures that authorized users can access the data and systems they need.

The training also covered practical security measures, including proper information handling, risk assessment, incident reporting, third-party risk management, and compliance with company policies and procedures.

Ms. Rachelle emphasized that information security is not only the responsibility of the IT team. Every employee has a role in protecting information through simple but important practices, such as using secure passwords, being cautious when opening emails and links, and immediately reporting suspicious activities or possible security incidents.

The session also highlighted the importance of continuous monitoring and improvement. By regularly reviewing policies, learning from incidents, and strengthening security controls, the company can better protect its information assets and maintain the trust of its clients, employees, and partners.

The program concluded with an oath-taking ceremony, where employees pledged to uphold the principles of the ISMS and carry out their responsibilities in protecting the company’s information and resources. The activity served as a meaningful reminder that information security requires not only awareness but also accountability and commitment from everyone.
