3 Basic Safety Habits That Keep Every SFI Employee Protected

Upholding a Safety-First Culture Across All Sites and Clients

At Servicio Filipino Inc. (SFI), safety is not just a protocol, it’s a mindset embedded in everything we do. As a trusted manpower and workforce solutions provider, we carry the responsibility of ensuring that all personnel deployed—whether in offices, malls, construction sites, or industrial facilities—prioritize safe, responsible work practices.

In line with DOLE Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHS) and international OSHA safety frameworks, we continuously train, monitor, and empower our workforce to maintain zero-harm operations. Safety starts with the basics. Here are three core safety habits that every SFI employee should uphold, no matter the role or assignment.

1. Stay Alert—Always Be Aware of Your Work Environment

Many incidents happen not because of complex risks, but because of simple oversights. At SFI, we encourage all personnel to be fully present and aware—from identifying potential slip hazards to spotting exposed wires, or recognizing unsafe behavior in the team.

Why it matters: Situational awareness helps prevent injuries before they occur. Awareness protects not just you, but everyone around you—our clients, coworkers, and the communities we serve.

What you can do:

  • Conduct a personal safety check at the start of your shift.

  • Avoid distractions (e.g., mobile phones) while walking or operating equipment.

  • Immediately raise any red flags to your supervisor or safety officer.

2. Use the Right PPE, the Right Way

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is your armor. Whether you’re working in a corporate, industrial, or service environment, wearing the right gear reduces the risk of physical injury or illness.

At SFI, all PPE provided complies with DOLE and client-specific standards. More importantly, we conduct orientations to ensure proper and consistent usage.

Examples of PPE by worksite:

  • Construction/Tech: Hard hat, steel-toe boots, gloves, reflective vest

  • Janitorial: Gloves, masks, non-slip shoes

  • Office/Security: ID badges, professional attire, and ergonomic equipment

Reminder: Even if the task feels routine—never skip your PPE.

3. Report Hazards and Unsafe Acts Immediately

A strong safety culture depends on communication. SFI encourages every employee to speak up and report risks or unsafe behavior without fear of blame.

Following our Safety Incident Reporting Process, every report—no matter how minor—helps improve working conditions across all accounts. This aligns with DOLE’s reporting guidelines and ensures we remain compliant and proactive.

Examples to report:

  • Leaking equipment or exposed wires

  • Injured coworkers or near-miss incidents

  • Missing PPE or malfunctioning safety tools

Your voice matters. One report can prevent a serious incident.

At SFI, Safety is a Shared Commitment

From top management to frontline staff, we uphold safety as a core value. Every SFI employee plays a vital role in maintaining not just compliance—but genuine concern for people’s lives.

We are proud to be a DOLE-compliant organization, with regular OSH orientations, Safety Toolbox Talks, and site audits in partnership with clients. Through ongoing safety education, audits, and accountability, we build a workforce that is trained, equipped, and empowered.

Because at the end of the day, no task is so urgent or important that we cannot take time to do it safely.
